Carl E. Lawless
Painter
(1894–1934)
Lawless studied at the Chicago Academy of Fine Arts and the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts. He was a member of the New Haven Paint and Clay Club and the Mystic Art Association.

He exhibited at the Art Institute of Chicago and the Pennsylvania Academy in the 1920s, at the National Academy of Design in 1923 where he won a prize, and at the Corcoran gallery Biennials in 1926 and 1935. His work weas also featured at the Wadsworth Atheneum in Hartford, Connecticut in 1936. In 1931 he won a prize for his work in an exhibition at the Connecticut Academy of Fine Art.
